We are from Ontario, does that mean we get our marriage license there?
No, that you are from Ontario or any other province or country you have to get your marriage license in BC, this can be done the week of the wedding. To be safe and not leave it to the last minute, check the different locations and hours of operation to be sure, but know that you could get your license a some* London drugs.

We are Americans, will our marriage certificate be recognized in the states?

When do you need the marriage license by?
You have to have one on the wedding day and need to bring it to the ceremony. You can get it up to 90 days before the wedding. The process is very easy and doesn’t take a lot of time, but don’t leave it to the last minute.

What do we need to get the marriage license?
You can go together or alone, but make sure you have a piece of ID from your partner. This is required to verify that you are who you claim to be, that you are not married or related. The learn more about it click HERE.

What information do we need to provide you for the license?
1-If you have aboriginal status, you will need to provide your status ID number.
2- I will need both your parents name before marriage, as well as their place of birth. Example: Natacha Trottier, Roberval, Quebec, Canada. (I’m married but never changed my name)

I don’t know my parents, or don’t speak to them, what do I do? Why do you need to know?
Do not worry, we will write unknown. Vital statistics agencies request parents’ information on a marriage license primarily for identification and record-keeping purposes. This helps confirm the identities of the individuals getting married and provides a historical and genealogical record. It also helps prevent cases of fraud or marriage between closely related individuals. Additionally, this information may be useful for future legal matters, such as inheritance or citizenship claims, where parental lineage plays a role in establishing relationships.

Can we personalize our ceremony?
Yes, ceremonies can be customized to reflect your values, traditions, and personalities. I honestly much prefer it, I find people get more into it and keep a true beautiful memory of their ceremony. It is also much more fun for the people attending. Your guests are there because they love you and want to be part of this special moment, knowing your story, some inside jokes will make them feel that much closer to you.

How far in advance should we book an officiant?
It’s recommended to book 6–12 months in advance, but last-minute bookings may be possible.

Do you perform same-sex weddings?
Yes absolutely!

What areas do you serve?
I serve the Sea to Sky Corridor (Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton), but may travel upon request. I am ordained in British Columbia.

Can you help us write our vows?
Yes, absolutely. I usually send some tricks on how to write them, but if you need extra help I am happy to offer my services for a fee.
What happens if we need to reschedule or cancel?
Policies for rescheduling or cancellations vary, depending of the date of the booking, the timing and the reason.

How long does the ceremony last?
Most ceremonies last 20–30 minutes, but this can vary based on preferences and what you want to include.

What attire do you wear to the ceremony?
I like to fit it with your wedding colours and stye. I always dress professionally and can accommodate specific requests to match the event’s tone.
